of Goodyear, please submit a job
interest notification card and we will notify you when we begin
recruiting for future Police Officer positions.
If you are not AZPOST certified, but would like to become a Police Officer with the
City of Goodyear, you may apply for our volunteer Reserve Police Officer
program. Selected individuals attend the Glendale Community College Law
Enforcement Training Academy and will graduate with a full Police Officer
certification. The Reserve Police Officer is responsible for paying for the
Academy and the City provides the equipment.
After graduation, the Reserve Officer is expected to
volunteer a minimum of 16 hours per month, and after one year of service the
City will reimburse the Reserve Police Officer for the cost of the Academy.
Reserve Police Officers go through a field training program until it is felt
the Reserve Officer is prepared to work independently, after which the Officer
can work alone in patrol, investigations, bike patrol, community education,
special task forces, or whatever area they wish to experience. While some
prefer to remain a Reserve Officer their entire careers, most will seek a full
time position.
If you are interested in becoming a Reserve Police Officer
with the City of Goodyear, please submit a job
interest notification card and we will notify you when we are recruiting
for this position. Recruitments are generally opened twice a year (May and
October), in order to bring people on board in time for the Police Academy school semester. Please contact the police officer in charge of this program at
or at 623-932-1220 if you would like more information.
As with other City positions, applications will only be
accepted during posted recruitment periods. Telecommunications Operator
positions are posted when we have a vacant position. If you would like to be
informed of future Telecommunication Operator recruitment postings, please
complete a job
interest notification card.
